What you can expect from your budget
Terms, conditions & policies
By placing an order for à la carte flowers you, the client, are accepting the terms and conditions of our services outlined herein.
Consultations
We want our couples to feel confident in their floral investments and we want to feel confident we understand your vision.
A one time free 20 minute consultation is offered either prior to or after placing your order. After that we charge a $25.00 hourly planning fee.
Please submit all reference photos prior to our consultation so that we can be as informative as possible.
AFTER: After we receive and have reviewed your order, one of our floral designers will reach out to you to go over the specifics, your vision & flower preferences. The information gathered during the consultation will then be used to create you a vision board of the colors & flowers we intend to use.
BEFORE: This can be important if you have specific flowers and designs in mind as we can properly advise you in regards of the cost it would take to accurately fulfill. Please fill out an inquiry form and we will contact you to schedule a consultation.
It is extremely important to note that our floral arrangement sizes, quantity of flowers and color variations will vary from the images on our site depending on the season. Flowers have a large price range that is influenced by numerous factors.
When to place your order
You can place your order anytime up until 2 weeks before your wedding date! Sooner the better to ensure availability!
Availability
We book A La Carte flowers for any day! To ensure availability we recommend placing your order as soon as you are ready! In the rare chance we are unavailable we will let you know right away.
Additions
You may place as many orders as you need as long as it is before our 2 week deadline. Please call us to place any additional orders for the same event so delivery can be appropriately billed or, if you have met the $200.00 delivery fee threshold, excluded.
Can I choose what flowers you’ll use?
We will always do our absolute best to honor any requests.
We cannot guarantee the use of any specific flowers at any time as flower availability is affected by many factors. Ultimately we may or may not use the exact flowers you listed or listed in your vision board of intended flowers we will use for your wedding.
We use extreme diligence and execute professional expertise when matching your vision to your budget. Your budget determines what flowers will be used.
Substitution Policy:
Tale of Flowers may substitute an item due to flower availability, quality & last minute changes or additions to the order. The client acknowledges that they may not be notified if the substitutions have to be made.
*The exact color, shade, and hue of each flower may vary since it is a natural product that cannot be manipulated. We do not offer customizations to the flowers. *
Communication
We ask you only submit one reference photo for each piece ordered or clearly communicate what specific feature & elements in your reference photos stick out to you. 3 photos of 3 totally different bouquets with absolutely no context can be very confusing.
All email communications are to be kept in the same thread to allow both client & florist to quickly access records & notes.
This service is made affordable because it takes a lot of the communication & detailed planning out of wedding flowers. We ask you respect that we will NOT be in constant communication with you. The only time we will contact you is either during your consultation and two weeks prior of your wedding to check in with you.

PICK UPS
We offer free curbside pick up from our East Hampton, CT studio location. Pick up time must be designated & respected.
DELIVERY
Delivery is 15% of the work order balance (min. $15.00- max $200 for delivery.) + CT sales tax (6.35%) and only covers delivery to one location. You will see delivery costs reflected on your order in your cart or at check out after entering your delivery address.
We will deliver & set up your flowers for you on your big day. Switching over your ceremony to reception and tear down isn’t included on anything other than the gold flower arch. If you are interested in those services (incurring additional fees) please let us know.
It is the client’s responsibility to give the correct times and information regarding the time photos start, the accessibility of the ceremony/ reception sites, and the delivery of the cake. Any corsages and boutonnieres will be left in an obvious area with names/ positions tagged on each. It’s the client’s responsibility to designate someone for pinning on these flowers.
The normal delivery time for the florist to arrive at the ceremony venue is 2 hours prior to the scheduled start time. If an earlier time is needed it is the client’s responsibility to inform the florist. Set-up includes placement of bouquets in predetermined areas and placement of all centerpieces, ceremony, aisle, reception, and other flowers ordered for and listed in the work order.
If the client is not available during the scheduled delivery time, the client will designate someone to accept and sign for the delivery and be sure all items requested are accounted for. The florist will not be held accountable if any florals/décor become damaged or missing due to failure to meet with the delivery person. The client does hereby release the florist from responsibility in the event the client or designated person cannot be located or chooses to not sign-off delivery.
In the event of delays in completing the set-up or pick-up as planned, caused by such parties as but not limited to; caterer, baker, venue, DJ, band, bride, bridal party, the client does hereby release the florist from responsibility & liability in not being able to complete set up. The florist will not be held accountable if any florals/décor become damaged or missing
Wedding cancelations & Postponement
Tale of Flowers pre-books flowers for your wedding well in advance.
If we are notified of your wedding being cancelled prior to five weeks before the wedding was to occur, Tale of Flowers will return a portion of, or up to all monies paid dependent upon incurred expenses. Any out-of-pocket expenses such as: flowers, ribbons, containers purchased, ordered, or rented for the wedding/event and charges for time invested by the florist will be deducted from monies paid. Cancellation less than 5 weeks prior to the event may result in a 100% loss of monies. This will depend on how much product we can cancel without penalties or how many other expenses have been generated. It is Tale of Flower’s goal to work with the client in the case of serious illness, death, or unexpected military deployment; however, Tale of Flowers must cover expenses of products purchased up to the point we are informed by the client of a cancellation.
Modifications
Please email any modification requests right away to sales@taleofflowers.com. (This includes additions, deletions, changes in color, times, location, ect) Some changes may be allowed before the 5 week deadline. (Minor cancellation of 1-2 pieces) Any changes to the order must be submitted within writing to our email and is not accepted or applicable until our florist has had the opportunity to review the changes and either accept or deny changes submitted and it is your responsibility to recieve verifications these emails were recieved by Tale of Flowers.
Cancelations of work order items
This service only allows for minor deletions (1-2 piece) 5 weeks prior to your wedding For any deletions or cancelations made after the 5-week deadline the total dollar amount of the work order shall remain unchanged. The flowers designated for those items will be used in other pieces of your choosing. If your choice is not submitted by 1 week prior to the event, we will determine where these flowers will be best used to enhance pieces on your order.
Extreme Conditions
The florist will make every possible effort to deliver flowers and other items ordered/ rented for your event in a timely manner. However, the florist shall not be liable for delay or inability to deliver flowers due to weather, traffic accident, road closures, landslides, floods, snowstorms or other acts of nature or war.
Permission to use images
The florist may order photos from the event. These photos are to be used in the floral portfolio belonging to Tale of Flowers, social media accounts belonging to Tale of Flowers, their company website, and in other advertising mediums as samples of the florist’s work. By hiring Tale of Flowers, the client expressly grants the florist permission to use photos from the event in-various forms of advertising and promoting Tale of Flowers floral services. Credit will be given to the photographer so long as the information is provided.
Liability
From the time of selection to the time of your event, flowers that are used for weddings are handled with continuous, precise care specific to each individual flower’s unique needs to ensure your flowers open and look their best.
We cannot accept liability after your flowers are picked up or delivered.
You agree and acknowledge that Tale of Flowers is not responsible or accountable for any personal injury or negligence from the use of goods supplied to you, or on behalf of you.
